Who we are
Tech Now Global is the operating name of Tech Now Global Africa, a non-profit registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria as an Incorporated Trustee (IT 184262), based in Badagry, Lagos State.
This policy explains how we collect and use personal data when you visit technowglobal.org, contact us or take part in our programmes. We follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
If you have any question about this policy or your data, email us at hello@technowglobal.org.
What we collect
When you contact us. Our contact form asks for your name, email address, phone number (optional), the reason you are writing, and your message. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to send.
When you register for a programme. For a camp, bootcamp, school programme or event, the registration form asks for the details we need to run it, such as your name, contact details, school and age range. For young people under 18, we may ask for a parent’s or guardian’s details.
When you visit the site. Our web host keeps server logs, which record information such as IP addresses and browser type, to keep the site running and secure.
We do not use analytics or advertising trackers on this site.
How we use it
- To reply to your message or request.
- To run programmes and events you sign up for, and to keep you informed about them.
- To keep records of our programmes and report on our work to partners and funders. We report in summary form, such as numbers of participants. We do not share your personal details in reports unless you agree.
- To keep the site and our programmes safe and secure.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We rely on your consent, on steps you ask us to take, on our legitimate interest in running and safeguarding our work, or on a legal obligation, depending on the situation.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data.
We share it only when we need to: with the companies that provide our website hosting and email; with a programme partner when you take part in a programme we run together (we will tell you who the partner is); and with authorities when the law requires it.
Content from other services
Some pages include videos from YouTube and use fonts from Google Fonts. When that content loads, those services may receive information such as your IP address, under their own privacy policies. Our pages also link to our accounts on Facebook, Instagram, X and LinkedIn; their policies apply once you follow those links.
Photos and videos
Our pages include photos and videos from our programmes and events. If you appear in one, or you are the parent or guardian of a young person who does, and you would like it removed, email hello@technowglobal.org and we will remove it.
Children and young people
Many of the young people we work with are under 18. We collect only what we need to run a programme and, where appropriate, ask for a parent’s or guardian’s consent.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it, and to meet our legal and reporting obligations. After that, we delete it or make it anonymous.
Keeping it safe
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal data. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct it if it is wrong;
- delete it;
- stop or limit how we use it;
- send it to you, or to another organisation, in a common format.
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, email hello@technowglobal.org. We will respond within the time the law requires.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Cookies
This site uses only the cookies it needs to work, such as those that keep site administrators signed in and protect the site. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Embedded YouTube videos may set their own cookies.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
